Their defense stepped up to hand the Bakersfield Christian Eagles a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Rams' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Garces Memorial's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8-5. As for Bakersfield Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10-2.
