Garfield Heights barely beat Maple Heights the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mustangs on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-21, 25-19.

Garfield Heights' offense was headlined by Shamira Thigpen and Halia Bolds, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Aniah Taylor and her 11 assists. Thigpen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The victory got Garfield Heights back to even at 1-1. As for Maple Heights, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Garfield Heights will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cleveland Heights at 5:30 p.m. As for Maple Heights, they will head out to take on Lorain at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
