Softball Recap: Orem Comes Up Short

Orem extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 4-6. They came up short against the Copper Hills Grizzlies, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 4, 2025.

Orem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Louise Allen, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Louise Allen has hit this season.

As for Copper Hills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2025 (when they won 11-4).

On Copper Hills' side, Oaklee Buhler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Buhler has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Janie Coats, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Coming up, Orem will face off against Lone Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Copper Hills, they will challenge Riverton at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silverwolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Grizzlies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
