Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Rylee Minehart and Bri Smith Lead Socastee to Victory

Socastee won the last time they faced Wilson Hall and things went their way on Friday too. The Socastee Braves enjoyed a cozy 53-39 win over the Wilson Hall Barons.

Leading Socastee to victory were Bri Smith and Rylee Minehart. Smith went 10 of 25 on her way to 26 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Minehart posted 15 points and six steals. Those 26 points gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Bailey, who put up five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Socastee's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Wilson Hall, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Socastee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-30 win against Pee Dee Academy on the 4th. As for Wilson Hall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-32 defeat against Latta on the 4th.
