Volleyball Game Preview: Mineral Point Pointers vs. Florence Bobcats

The Mineral Point Pointers will square off against the Florence Bobcats at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mineral Point is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games.

Mineral Point had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Fennimore on Thursday. The Pointers blew past the Golden Eagles 3-0.

Mineral Point's got stronger as the match went on, holding Fennimore to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 30-28, 25-21, 25-18.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Florence duked it out with Crandon on Thursday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 3-0 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Florence took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-10, 25-15.

Mineral Point's win bumped their record up to 25-3. As for Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.
