Basketball Recap: Schalmont Takes a Loss

Schalmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They fell 55-42 to the Hawthorne Valley Wildcats.

Hawthorne Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Gamiello, who posted 21 points. The contest was Gamiello's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Towe, who had 15 points.

Schalmont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Hawthorne Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Schalmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hawthorne Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Taconic Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
