Alabama Christian Academy blew Trinity Presbyterian out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Trinity Presbyterian got their revenge. The Eagles fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 12-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Madolyn Traywick put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Traywick was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Izzy Warrick made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Hall, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Prattville Christian Academy duked it out with Tallassee on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 9-0. Considering the Panthers have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Laura Nesmith's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Peyton Thrash was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Chloe Hollon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Prattville Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Alabama Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
Alabama Christian Academy couldn't quite finish off Prattville Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
