Basketball Recap: Rockvale's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rockvale had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 76-67 victory over the Siegel Stars. This was a revenge game for Rockvale: when they faced off against Siegel back in January, they had to take a 59-44 defeat.

Rockvale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty Newton, who went 5 of 8 en route to 21 points. What's more, Newton also posted a 63% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Malachi Long, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Rockvale's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 48.4% in those games and 25.4% outside of them. As for Siegel, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockvale will host Blackman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Siegel, they will face off against Warren County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Siegel likes a good challenge.
