Baseball Recap: Elkhorn Wins Going Away Against Nebraska City

Elkhorn barely beat Nebraska City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Antlers were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Pioneers on Thursday. The Antlers haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Carter Haberling looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caiden Severson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Elkhorn: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bostin Oster, who earned two RBI and one run.

Elkhorn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Elkhorn's record now sits at 11-14. As for Nebraska City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
