Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Edgewood Cougars
The Franklin Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Edgewood Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Franklin pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 82-58 loss at the hands of Brookville.
The losing side was boosted by Kai Cook, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last ten times he's played. Jason Sroufe was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Edgewood pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Valley View 72-68. Edgewood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Edgewood, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-12.
Franklin was able to grind out a solid victory over the Cougars when the teams last played back in January, winning 60-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
