Basketball Game Preview: King's Academy Knights vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

The King's Academy Knights will square off against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. King's Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 contests -- so hopefully Sacred Heart Prep likes a good challenge.

King's Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Scotts Valley with a sharp 75-49 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep entered their tilt with Menlo School on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 73-68 W against the Knights.

King's Academy better keep an eye on Alex Osterloh. He was instrumental in Sacred Heart Prep's win, going 8-for-12 to rack up 20 points and five rebounds. What's more, Osterloh also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Straser, who posted 14 points and five boards.

Sacred Heart Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They are 12-2 when they hit their own glass that hard.

King's Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. Sacred Heart Prep's victory bumped their record up to 16-9.

King's Academy strolled past Sacred Heart Prep in their previous matchup on February 7th by a score of 66-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sacred Heart Prep's Matthew Norris, who went 7-for-11 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
