Baseball Recap: Blake Lehrer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Centaurus

The Monarch Coyotes came out on top against the Centaurus Warriors on Saturday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Monarch got a great performance from Evan DiCarlo as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. DiCarlo has become a key player for the Coyotes: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Monarch saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Lehrer, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Monarch's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Centaurus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13-1 record this season.

Monarch has already played their next game, a 9-3 loss against Poudre on the 12th. As for Centaurus, they will head out to square off against Falcon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
