Softball Recap: Lake Gibson Has No Trouble Against Ridge Community

Lake Gibson won the last time they faced Ridge Community and things went their way on Monday too. The Braves were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Bolts. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Seymour made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lake Gibson got a massive performance out of Andrea Lewis, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Kylie Vazquez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Lake Gibson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Lake Gibson pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Ridge Community, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

As of now, neither Lake Gibson nor the Bolts have any future games scheduled.
