Softball Recap: Monarch Coyotes vs. Centaurus Warriors        
        
		
             After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Regis Jesuit, Monarch was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Centaurus Warriors  10-8. The high-scoring effort was just what the Coyotes needed considering they were shutout in their previous   match.
  Caroline Katzin made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. The last time  her  batting average was this high was  back in October of 2023. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs, and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Kate Church was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Teagan Lear, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Monarch  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centaurus only hit six.
 Monarch now  has a winning record of 6-5. As for Centaurus, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
 Monarch will take on Horizon at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. One thing working in Horizon's favor is that they have posted at least ten  runs  in their last three games. As for Centaurus, they will challenge Middle Park at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
