Javion Kinnard's Big Game Leads Pearl-Cohn over Whites Creek

Starting off the list is Pearl-Cohn's Javion Kinnard, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Kinnard rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown.

If the past is any indication, Kinnard could be in store for another big game when he takes on Greenbrier on Friday. Kinnard rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Bobcats duked it out back in October of 2023.

Kelton Crisp Turns in Season-Best Performance

Station Camp was led to victory by Kelton Crisp, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Crisp wasn't messing around, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making 11 total tackles (5.0 for loss). The contest was his seventh straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.

Station Camp's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. Crisp and Station Camp will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Creek Wood on October 18th.

Tyler Thompson and Co. Win Seventh in a Row

Tyler Thompson's big game helped extend Marshall County's winning streak to seven on Friday. Thompson did his part (and then some), throwing for 224 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground for the 'W'. Thompson is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season.

Marshall County pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Thompson and Marshall County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Montgomery Central at 7:00 p.m.

Big Game from Overbey As Station Camp Won 38-8

The second Station Camp player making an appearance here is Colton Overbey, and for good reason. He threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards.

For the year, Overbey has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 223.4 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 0.86 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 34.86 rushing yards.

On Friday, Montgomery Central had to settle for second even though William Miranda put up the best numbers he has all season. Miranda rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Montgomery Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. Miranda and Montgomery Central have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Marshall County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
