Basketball Game Preview: St. Marys Bears vs. Holton Wildcats

The St. Marys Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Holton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Marys will head out to face Holton after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. St. Marys was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Rossville.

Meanwhile, Holton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Silver Lake. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

St. Marys will have to contain Brayden Peek as he made an impact in Holton's last game. He almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Lassey, who posted six points.

St. Marys' loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-2. As for Holton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Everything went St. Marys' way against Holton in their previous matchup back in January, as St. Marys made off with a 63-37 win. Will St. Marys repeat their success, or does Holton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
