Basketball Recap: Grace Gallagher Key Part of a Team Effort in Wolverines Win

Hunter won the last time they faced Cyprus and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hunter Wolverines walked away with a 49-41 win over the Cyprus Pirates.

Hunter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Gallagher, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. Gallagher is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 33 games she's played dating back to last season. Destini Perez was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Despite the loss, Cyprus still got an impressive performance from Calee Sharp, who posted 17 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Adri Pau'u, who had five points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Hunter's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Cyprus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-18.

Hunter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-28 victory against Granger on the 7th. As for Cyprus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-45 defeat against Taylorsville on the 7th.
