Preview: Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks vs. Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons
The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks will be home for the holidays to greet the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Tamalpais sitting on four straight victories and Archie Williams on three.
Tamalpais scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on De Anza with a sharp 85-59 win. Given Tamalpais' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while De Anza is ranked 793rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though San Rafael scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Archie Williams still came out on top. Archie Williams narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past San Rafael 60-58.
Archie Williams' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julian Nichol led the charge by scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Brian Wright, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Tamalpais' win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Archie Williams, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
