Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert vs. North Augusta

Gilbert is 0-3 against North Augusta since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Indians will look to defend their home pitch against the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Gilbert has given up an average of 3.3 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Gilbert's offense. They came up short against Gray Collegiate Academy on Thursday, falling 5-0. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Kendrick Cordoba was handed one for Gilbert, while Gray Collegiate Academy got theirs courtesy of William Myers.

Meanwhile, North Augusta kept a clean sheet against Midland Valley on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Mustangs.

North Augusta's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Gilbert, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Gilbert suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to North Augusta in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Indians were down 5-0.
