Basketball Recap: Covington's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

With a playoff win on the line, Covington rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 71-51 margin over the Faith Christian Eagles. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Covington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Curt Slider led the charge by going 8-for-11 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Slider a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Max Waddell, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

The win got Covington back to even at 13-13. As for Faith Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 6-18 record this season.

Covington has already played their next contest, a 50-40 defeat against Lafayette Central Catholic on the 8th. Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
