Basketball Recap: Sam Mcglothlin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Narrows over Parry Mccluer

Narrows lost against Parry McCluer back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Narrows Green Waves took a 77-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parry McCluer Fighting Blues. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (56), the Green Waves still had to take the loss.

Narrows lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sam Mcglothlin, who posted 21 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Holmes, who went 9 of 20 en route to 21 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Narrows smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Narrows' defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Parry McCluer, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Narrows will host Highland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Narrows is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season. As for Parry McCluer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastern Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Parry McCluer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Eastern Montgomery likes a good challenge.
