Football Game Preview: Homestead Broncos vs. Boyd Anderson Cobras

Homestead has won five straight games at home, while Boyd Anderson has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Broncos will welcome the Cobras at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Homestead 4.4, Boyd Anderson 2.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Homestead is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They didn't even let Nova on the board, marking the Broncos' second-straight 26-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won nine contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Homestead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zakieria Cobb out in front who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. Those 108 rushing yards gave Cobb a new career-high. Jerniyah Fowles was another key signal caller, throwing for 172 yards and three TDs while completing 86.4% of her passes.

Homestead didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Nova to a completion percentage of just 50%. Given Fowles' standout performance, it's clear the Titans' secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Meanwhile, Boyd Anderson got themselves on the board against Braddock on Wednesday, but Braddock never followed suit. They enjoyed a cozy 19-0 win over the Bulldogs.

Homestead has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.3 points on average over those games. As for Boyd Anderson, their record now sits at 15-2.
