Deer Creek-Mackinaw took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Peoria Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chiefs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over the Chargers on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Chiefs, who have now won three matches in a row.

Tug Lester was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Hunter Fogle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw's record now sits at 14-15. As for Peoria Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.
