Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Trinity Prep Saints

The Lake Nona Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Trinity Prep Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lake Nona has three straight victories, Trinity Prep has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Lake Nona was able to grind out a solid win over Windermere, taking the game 3-1.

Lake Nona was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 22-25, 25-13.

Lake Nona can attribute much of their success to Jocelyn Serra, who had 13 digs, and Leilany Starling, who had eight digs. That's the most digs Serra has posted over her last five matches.

Lake Nona was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Trinity Prep lost 3-0 to Lake Howell on Wednesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 25-12.

Trinity Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Lake Nona, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
