Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Comes Up Short

Holy Cross played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Christ the King Royals, falling 71-39. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.

Holy Cross lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nafi Balde, who posted five points and 15 rebounds. She has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Glasco, who earned nine points.

Even though they lost, Holy Cross smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their 15th loss (out of 21 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Holy Cross has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. The win (which was Christ the King's fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Holy Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Christ the King has already played their next contest (against Mary Louis Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
