Football Recap: Anson Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Tasean Harris and Cordarrius Bivens + How To Watch

Anson had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it seven. They took a 28-12 bruising from the Huss Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Huskies are ranked 135th).

Despite the defeat, Anson had strong showings from Cordarrius Bivens, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown, and Tasean Harris, who rushed for 82 yards. Bivens didn't just play on offense: he also made one tackle and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

As for Huss, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.3 points on average over those games.

Huss can attribute much of their success to Ethan Presley, who threw for 235 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Anson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pender at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Huss, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 35-19 win against North Gaston on the 19th.
