Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers vs. Tri-City Tornadoes

The Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers will head out to challenge the Tri-City Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Pulaski has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Mt. Pulaski will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating St. Teresa, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. Mt. Pulaski breezed by St. Teresa to the tune of 61-28 on Friday. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for the Hilltoppers this season.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Tri-City on Friday. They strolled past Hartsburg-Emden with points to spare, taking the game 57-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Tri-City's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13. As for Mt. Pulaski, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Everything went Mt. Pulaski's way against Tri-City in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Mt. Pulaski made off with a 63-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Pulaski since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
