Basketball Game Preview: Platte Valley Broncos vs. Sterling Tigers

Platte Valley and Sterling are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Platte Valley Broncos will welcome the Sterling Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Platte Valley is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Northridge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies. The loss was the Broncos' first of the season.

Platte Valley might have lost, but man, Lauryn Uyemura was a machine: she posted 28 points. With that strong performance, Uyemura is now averaging an impressive 16.8 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryla Bunting, who earned nine points.

Meanwhile, Sterling entered their tilt with Lamar on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Thunder by a score of 32-25.

Sterling now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Platte Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Platte Valley against Sterling in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, as the squad secured a 67-18 victory. In that game, Platte Valley amassed a halftime lead of 49-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
