Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Connally

Connally entered their tilt with Robinson on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Robinson Rockets by a score of 62-54. Given the Cadets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 436th, while the Rockets are ranked 1028th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Rockets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Moreno, who went 5 of 7 en route to 14 points. Moreno is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landen Turnbo, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Connally is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Robinson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-18.

Connally will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lorena at 8:00 p.m. Connally has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Robinson, they will head out to face off against La Vega at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Vega will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Robinson surely won't give up without a fight.
