The George Wythe Maroons will take on the Auburn Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. George Wythe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.4 goals per game this season.

George Wythe's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Honaker 3-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but George Wythe were the better team in the second half.

Mason Tate and Lucas Mabry scored all three of George Wythe's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Auburn faced Eastern Montgomery in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. It was the first time this season that Auburn let down their fans at home.

Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2-1. As for George Wythe, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

George Wythe suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Auburn when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Maroons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
