Wiley skates past Kit Carson with ease

Recap: Wiley Panthers vs. Kit Carson Wildcats

The Wiley Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Kit Carson 64-34 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Wiley, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Wiley was led to victory by Bo Arnold and Rhett McDonald. Arnold scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while McDonald scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. McDonald continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Barraza, who scored eight points along with two steals.

Kit Carson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brennan Framel, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Framel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Marriott, who scored seven points along with four steals.

Kit Carson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wiley pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.

Wiley's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Kit Carson, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Wiley will look to defend their home court on Friday against Walsh at 3:00 p.m. Walsh is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Kit Carson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hi-Plains at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hi-Plains is on a three-game streak of home losses, Kit Carson a five-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
