Softball Recap: Oak Ridge Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Oak Ridge lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Meadow Heights, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. Oak Ridge's pitcher stepped up to hand Meadow Heights a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. For the Blue Jays, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

Kinsley Bogenpohl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Bogenpohl was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Oak Ridge let Kaelyn Deckerd and Madyson Ruehling run wild. Deckerd went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Ruehling went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Alexis Stroder, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double.

Oak Ridge pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Oak Ridge will venture away from home to face off against Century at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Meadow Heights, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Meadow Heights Panthers take on Leopold Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
