It was a good run, but Harlingen South unfortunately witnessed the end of their 15-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 49-36 to the Lopez Lobos. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lobos earlier this season, when they won 42-36.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allison Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Mia Reyna, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Harlingen South's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 14-1 and their overall record down to 24-6. As for Lopez, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-9.

Harlingen South will head out on the road to take on Donna at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lopez has already played their next match (against Edcouch-Elsa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
