Recap: Lejeune Devil Pups vs. East Carteret Mariners
The Lejeune Devil Pups''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 67-44 loss at the hands of East Carteret. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lejeune in their matchups with East Carteret: they've now lost nine in a row.
Andrew Finnerty and Connor Shea certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Finnerty picked up 284 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Shea threw for 497 yards and five touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Malachi Moore, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Lejeune's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: East Carteret's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. East Carteret's QB won't forget Aiden Pasco anytime soon given Pasco sacked him four times.
Lejeune's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for East Carteret, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8.
Lejeune does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Carteret also has no future games currently scheduled.
