Basketball Recap: Sebastian James Key Part of a Team Effort in Huskies Win

The third road match was the charm for Sheldon, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against the Pleasant Grove Eagles by a score of 54-44 on Wednesday. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Eagles are ranked 551st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sheldon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sebastian James, who posted seven points and eight rebounds. What's more, James also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Baron Sabir, who had nine points and five boards.

Pleasant Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Breslin, who earned eight points. Alvin Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 8-9. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Sheldon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-51 victory against Franklin on the 17th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-51 loss against Elk Grove on the 17th.
