Softball Game Preview: Valley Christian Trojans vs. Apache Junction Prospectors

The Valley Christian Trojans will face off against the Apache Junction Prospectors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Valley Christian's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while Apache Junction has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.

Valley Christian blew Yuma Catholic out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Yuma Catholic got their revenge. The Trojans fell just short of the Shamrocks by a score of 5-3.

Valley Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Harmon, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Sophie Kercsmar was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Apache Junction couldn't beat ALA - Ironwood on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Prospectors came up short against the Warriors, falling 22-7.

Apache Junction's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-3-1.

Everything went Valley Christian's way against Apache Junction in their previous matchup back in March, as Valley Christian made off with a 28-0 victory. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Prospectors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
