Basketball Recap: Kevin Moore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Anthony's over Holy Trinity

St. Anthony entered their match against Holy Trinity on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The St. Anthony's Friars took a hard 63-49 fall against the Holy Trinity Titans. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Friars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Titans are ranked 176th).

St. Anthony's lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kevin Moore, who went 6 for 13 to rack up 13 points. What's more, he also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. James Taylor Jr. was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, St. Anthony's smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

St. Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 19-3. As for Holy Trinity, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Coming up, St. Anthony's will challenge Kellenberg Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Trinity, they will square off against Chaminade at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
