Volleyball Game Preview: JSerra Catholic Lions vs. St. John Bosco Braves

The JSerra Catholic Lions will take on the St. John Bosco Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

JSerra Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Santa Margarita, who was ranked 17th at the time (JSerra Catholic was ranked 16th). The Lions lost 3-0 to the Eagles on Monday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While JSerra Catholic ultimately came up short, they really made Santa Margarita work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 26-24.

The losing side was boosted by Darren Chi, who had 11 digs. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, St. John Bosco didn't have quite enough to beat Santa Margarita on Wednesday and fell 3-2.

St. John Bosco has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-8 record this season. As for JSerra Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

JSerra Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over St. John Bosco in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 3-1. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
