Volleyball Recap: Simi Valley Takes a Loss

If Simi Valley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Calabasas last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Simi Valley Pioneers fell 3-1 to the Moorpark Musketeers on Tuesday. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Musketeers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Simi Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 27-25, 26-24.

Simi Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Moorpark, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.

Simi Valley and Moorpark could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Simi Valley will challenge Oak Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 280 places (411 vs. 131). Similarly, Moorpark (ranked 757th) will meet Royal (ranked 31st) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
