Baseball Recap: Fleming Island Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Fleming Island never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Silverdale Academy Seahawks 2-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Golden Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Caden Swartz's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Fleming Island saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Reilly, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Fleming Island's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Silverdale Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
