Soccer Game Preview: Steamboat Springs vs. Aspen

Steamboat Springs is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will host the Aspen Skiers at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Steamboat Springs is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Niwot on Saturday. The Sailors fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Aspen fell victim to Basalt and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns. The loss continues a trend for Aspen in their meetings with Basalt: they've now lost three in a row.

Steamboat Springs now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Aspen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
