Soccer Recap: Monte Vista Takes a Loss

After flying high against Point Loma on Wednesday, Monte Vista came back down to earth. The Monarchs fell just short of the Calexico Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Monte Vista couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Mike Alcema, who's now up to three this season.

Monte Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Calexico, their record is now 3-0-1.

Looking ahead, Monte Vista will host Hilltop at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Calexico, they will venture away from home to take on La Costa Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
