Basketball Recap: Kankakee Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Kankakee Valley needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Mallorie Rose. The Kankakee Valley Kougars came out on top against the Illiana Christian Vikings by a score of 42-32 on Tuesday thanks in part to Rose, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Olthof, who posted three points in addition to nine boards and three steals. Olthof has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Sienna Eenigenburg was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.

Kankakee Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Illiana Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Kankakee Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-27 defeat against Munster on the 18th. Illiana Christian has also already played their next contest, a 46-40 win against Timothy Christian on the 18th.
