Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ella Elsen and Malia Mcmanus Lead Lake Zurich to Victory + How To Watch

Lake Zurich won the last time they faced Waukegan and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bears came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Lake Zurich easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-17.

Leading Lake Zurich to victory were Malia McManus and Ella Elsen. McManus had eight digs and five aces, while Elsen had 12 assists and three aces. Those five aces gave McManus a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Lake Zurich was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Lake Zurich's record now sits at 9-4. As for Waukegan, they moved to 6-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Zurich will head out to take on Glenbrook North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waukegan, they will venture away from home to square off against Wheeling at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
