The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rehobeth, who took down 255th ranked Booker T. Washington, 27-21.
The Rebels moved up to 328 from 356 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region 2. Rehobeth climbed the ranks as a result of a 27-21 win over the Golden Eagles.
Thomas Ford was the most productive running back in the league this week. In seven carries, he ran for 110 yards as Eufaula fell to Eufaula. Teammate Trey Johns added to the ground attack by rushing for 50 yards.
Bryant Horn put up the best numbers through the air as Russell beat Russell County. He finished with a total of nine completions for 125 yards and one touchdown. Horn's favorite target this week was Briquez Alvies, who caught one pass for 38 yards.
BAILEY was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rams lost to the Tigers. BAILEY tallied four receptions for 57 yards. HOUSTON BARNES helped Valley's passing attack out by catching four balls for 36 yards.
Valley's JOSHUA MEIGS and BAILEY have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 5A Region 2 in both passing and receiving yards. MEIGS has thrown for 819 yards this season, while BAILEY, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 18 catches for 276 yards. The Wildcats' Alvies leads the league in rushing yards with 475.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Carroll takes on Eufaula. The Eagles are currently in third, while Daniel Klages' team is in second.
Russell extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Warriors, 50-3. The victory was the sixth in a row for JEFF HINES's team.
