Volleyball Recap: Ironton Takes a Loss

Ironton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the South Point Pointers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pointers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Ironton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made South Point work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 26-24.

Ironton's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for South Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Ironton will face off against Portsmouth West at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Point, they will take on Chesapeake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
