Softball Recap: Odem Wins Going Away Against West Oso

Odem was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They blew past the West Oso Bears 14-3. The victory continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won seven in a row.

Marianna Torrez was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Spurlock, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Odem's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for West Oso, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Odem will square off against Aransas Pass at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.94 runs per game on average), something the Owls will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Oso, they will take on Mathis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
