Volleyball Recap: Deer Creek Comes Up Short

Deer Creek was the 3-2 winner over Norman when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Antlers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Deer Creek sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 17-25, 15-8.

Zoe Young was the offensive standout of the game as she had 13 assists and three digs. Young is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Deer Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Norman, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Deer Creek is set to challenge their familiar foe Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Norman will face off against rival Edmond North at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
