Baseball Recap: Navajo Pine Warriors vs. Wingate Bears
Navajo Pine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 18-8 to the Wingate Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on Thursday.
Anthony Sandoval made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Navajo Pine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Wingate, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navajo Pine will head out to challenge Northwest at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wingate, they will square off against Tohatchi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
