Volleyball Recap: Spring Grove Starts off Right with Win over Lyle/Pacelli + How To Watch

Spring Grove took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics by a score of 3-1. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Athletics, too.

Spring Grove walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-27, 25-16, 25-15.

Carlie Halverson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had nine digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Spring Grove was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Lyle/Pacelli lost, don't look at Autumn Drennan. Despite the final result, she had four digs and two aces.

Spring Grove has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Glenville-Emmons on the 26th. As for Lyle/Pacelli, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Plainview-Elgin-Millville on the 23rd.
